Presidents hopes to get international support to troubles in Somalia
Mogadishu,(insidesomalia.org) A high ranking Somali delegation led by President Abdullahi Yusuf and his Prime Minister Nur Hassan Husien “Nur Adde” left Baidoa on Tuesday for official visits to Kenya, Ethiopia, United Kingdom and Portugal, say Somali Government official in Baidoa.
In their first leg in Nairobi, the President and Prime Minister will have talks with representatives from the international community on the humanitarian crisis in Somalia particularly Mogadishu where about 200,000 people have fled from recent fighting in the capital city between government forces backed by Ethiopian army against Insurgents face desperate living conditions.
International community criticized Somali government for its inattentive way on these "humanitarian disaster" at the outskirts of Mogadishu where International Humanitarian agencies called for emergency humanitarian assistance to prevent against human tragedy.
In Addis Ababa, The Somali delegation will have talks with US Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice and IGAD Foreign Ministers on the issues related to the crisis in Somalia.
A tripartite conference between United States of America, Somalia and Ethiopia will also take place in Addis Ababa, said the Somali Government official speaking at a press conference held in Baidoa.
On the last leg of the visit the delegation will be visiting United Kingdom and Portugal where they will attend international conferences in which agenda discussed include Somali conflict.
These official visits of President Yusuf abroad coincided when the new structured Somali Government face critical challenges after four of its cabinet ministers resigned on Monday and Tuesday.
